Treatment with implantology:
- A small incision is made in the gum under local anaesthetic, exposing the underlying jawbone.
- A small hole is drilled into the bone. The diameter of this hole corresponds to the diameter of the implant. The implant is screwed into the bone.
- A flat cover screw is placed over the implant and the gum is replaced and secured. The implant can then heal. During the healing phase, the implant integrates with the jawbone.
- Healing time depends on the quality of the jawbone and varies from 6 to 16 weeks.
- Following the healing phase the flat cover screw is replaced with a higher screw, which protrudes through the gum. The gum around this screw must be left to heal for 2 weeks.
- After that we can begin to replace the crown.
- The implant is printed and a colour is chosen for the crown.
- This crown is manufactured in the dental laboratory and a dental technician usually takes around 2 weeks to create it.
- The dentist sets the crown two weeks after it is printed.
